The Augustinian and Sacerdotal Concord is presently under the obedience of His Excellency, the Most Reverend Simon Scharf, Can. Reg. He did his schooling in a neo-Catholic school in the Principality of Monaco; afterwards, following six years of study at the now-defunct anti-modernist and anti-liberal Faculté libre de théologie réformée in Aix-en-Provence (France), he graduated with a pre-doctorate in Theology.
He was later converted, by the grace of God, to the true faith. Firmly persuaded that the Catholic religion could not exist without a Pope, he was received into the Church by the Most Rev. Maurice Archieri (†2016) – a long-standing acquaintance of the Most Rev. Guérard des Lauriers, O.P. – whose charity, moral integrity, and sanctified life appeared to confirm the authenticity of his claim to have been instituted, by the Holy Ghost in 1995, in a certain sense, “pope formaliter”: that is, Christ’s Vicar without jurisdiction, a mere “bond of faith.” Bishop Archieri maintained connections with many traditionalists, many of whom would attend his Mass, even though they belonged to different organisations.
Father Scharf was ordained in the valid line of Bishop Archieri in 2005, in order to minister to a community of converts in the East of France. He soon recognised the error made in good faith by this devout old man, burdened with sorrow; consequently, he joined the English Sedevacantist Community of the Most Rev. Michael French, Can. Reg., where he was ordained sub conditione in 2009.
The trials of fate having led him to the Czech Republic in 2018, he was received in the obedience of His Eminence, the Most Reverend Emanuel Card. Koráb, Can. Reg., ordained and consecrated in Rome sub conditione in 1998 by the Most Rev. Pavel Hnilica, himself clandestinely consecrated to the episcopate in 1951.
In 2018, His Em. Bishop Koráb decided to confer upon Father Scharf the fullness of the priesthood with the title of Bishop of the French Region, and for the administration of the Augustinian and Sacerdotal Concord. The consecration took place on the 4th of August 2018.
Three years later, His Em. Bishop Koráb was called to God, after his health had deteriorated over many months, during which he had appointed His Ex. Bishop Scharf as his Coadjutor and spokesperson. In this way, the succession at the head of the European Region was able, thanks to God, to take place without any interruption.
